Beginning of Summer Barbecue and Dive
Mon, 05/06/2013
We're having a barbecue at Windy Point Park this coming Sunday, May 12 to start off the summer. The water is warm enough at this point for a 5mm suit close to the surface, but you'll still want a 7mm if you're going more than 50 feet down. You can dive if you want to, or you can just eat. Either way, we hope you can make it. A bit of food will be provided, but we never know how many people to expect so bring something if you can. BYOB. Hope you can make it.
(May 12 is Mother's Day, BTW, so make sure you call Mom)

May Meeting, 50th Anniversary Planning
Mon, 04/29/2013
Hey,
I was in Lake Travis again this weekend. The water's getting a lot warmer, though level is still extremely low. Oh well. We have a meeting this week. We'll go over diving in the summer, plan out trips we want to take, etc. Then, we're going to do some work planning the club's 50th anniversary party, which will be sometime in 2014. Everyone is welcome to attend, especially alumni. The meeting will be May 2, 7PM, in SAC 1.118. Hope to see you there. -Travis

First Spring Meeting
Sun, 01/20/2013
It's a bit early to start diving, the local water is COLD, but it is time to start planning out the semester. I'd like to do a few diving trips around the Austin area and around Texas in the spring and we have several options, so come to the meeting and we'll figure that out. If you're beginner and/or you've never met the club before, also come to the meeting.
Feb 7, 7-8PM SAC 3.112 See you there.

TrashFest 2012 Pre-Registration DUE 9/28
Wed, 09/26/2012
I am putting together a team for us to send out to New Braunfels for TrashFest 2012. We will be diving in parts of the Comal River helping the environment by picking up trash and having lots of fun while doing it.
After the cleanup, they host a BBQ with lots of raffle prizes! Your chances of getting something are pretty HIGH. PRE-REGISTRATION for the price of $60 for a team of 8 is due September 28th!! If we are going to take a team to this dive, we need to plan ASAP. 2 people have to be on the shore at all times, so non-divers are WELCOME too! Here's the website for more information: http://www.tgccdiving.org/trashfest/index.html Please let me know ASAP if you are interested, so we can plan accordingly. danielkhuong@utexas.edu

Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup, Sep 23
Tue, 08/28/2012
It is time, once again, for the annual Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup! Our team has been assigned Bob Wentz Park, which is right next to Windy Point. The cleanup starts at 9:00AM so we want to be there by 8:30. David Senecal is planning and organizing our efforts this year and he would like to carpool out there (always a good idea for Lake Travis). We would like as many people as possible, but please don't sign up here if you don't plan to actually attend.
You will need to register here and fill out the liability form here. Check out www.keepaustinbeautiful.org/underwater for more information or email us at info@utscuba.com if you have any questions. See you there.
